Bosch 11255VSR BULLDOG Xtreme 1-Inch SDS-plus D-Handle Rotary Hammer Testimonials:

By Walker Rankin (Michigan)

There are many explanations why this drill is preferable to other hammer drills I've (Craftsman and DeWalt). The way Bosch designed this drill let a lone the power it has, makes it stand alone. I'm not likely to dwell on the power ( despite the fact that I was in a position to completely chip away a baby shower mortar bed in under Ten minutes), what made the difference may be the design. First allow me to state that quick change SDS chuck and bits make this worth while. If you have done a lot of drilling you are aware how frustrating it's when you have to continually stop and re-tighten bits that have come loose from binding in the concrete. SDS eliminates this, combined with the ease of the fast bit change also prevents the requirement to keep looking for a chuck key. Not once did I've the part loose up.

Bosch also made it easy with the way they implemented the auxiliary handle and depth guide. Other manufactures cause you to completely remove parts to be able to change the handle position or alter the depth guide. Another excellent feature is the Vario-Lock that will allow you to alter the orientation of the chipping bit without needing to hold the drill or yourself in awkward situations that may even be dangerous.

The clutching mechanism really works very well. The days when I did bind the part (which was rare using the drill power) I'd little torque transfer prior to the clutch caught. That is comforting from a safety aspect.

For the power, the drill feels safe with a decent length cord. I haven't used this drill long, and so i can't talk to the reliability. Regardless the look and power has me sold and I have been using DeWalt for a long time.

Also something that's a pet peeve of mine (although minor) is the way manufacturers position the outlet of the cord. Most result in the cord emerge directly behind it, which makes it difficult to make the case and perhaps needing to severely bend the cable which could cause damage with time - this Bosch drill doesn't have this problem.

Keep in mind this drill only works with SDS bits, although Bosch sells another chuck that will allow for normal bits.

I'm within the construction business and i will easily notice anybody who looks at this product that it's truly an indispensible tool. It drills through brick and concrete with ease. It's relatively light for its power and size and it is very easy and comfortable to use. Only at that price point you can't inflict better. Highly recommended.

I am within the remodeling business an i do alot of baths an nine out of ten jobs i have to move the drain lines from one end from the room towards the other, an before, i usually had to cut a line having a masonary blade in my skill saw go rent a jack hammer to finish the task, as most know this is a very messy job, consider i purchased this tool it's all regulated i need. i simply drill an outline with a 1/2 inch drill bit then switch to a chipping bit an in minutes the task is done with hardly any mess an no heavy jack hammer to lugg around.i very highly recomend this tool, infact the very first chance i recieve i will buy another just for back-up in-case i need exactly the same tool on two defferent jobs.
