Bare-Tool DEWALT DC212B 18-Volt 7/8-Inch Cordless SDS Hammer

The DEWALT DC212B SDS rotary hammer blasts holes as much as 7/8 -inch diameter through dense rock, solid concrete, and virtually any other masonry material with speed - and surprising ease. This ultra-heavy-duty, 18-volt tool produces an impressive 1.7 ft-lbs. of impact energy, leading to corded power with no cord. The high-performance, commercial-grade motor drives the bit at 0-1,100 RPM, and 0-4,100 blows per m-inch The variable-speed, reversing switch provides precise control throughout use, and a heavy-duty hammer mechanism ensures fast penetration with very low vibration. Users will even appreciate the factory-set clutch that greatly reduces sudden, high-torque reactions if your bit jams in the hole. Other features include: a 360-degree rotating side handle for optimum control; a variable depth rod for consistently boring exact-depth holes; along with a compact, L-shaped design that matches into tight spaces which are inaccessible to standard SDS rotary hammers. The DC212B has a side handle and depth rod. Battery and charger are sold separately. It’s backed by DEWALT’s three-year limited warranty, 90-day money-back guarantee, and two-year free service contract.

Dewalt Hammer Drill Review

Bare-Tool DEWALT DC212B 18-Volt 7/8-Inch Cordless SDS Hammer (Tool Only, No Battery)
My first utilization of the product was drilling a 1/2" hole to a depth of 4" in a concrete slab. The procedure was smooth and very quick - very pleased with the results.

Small , powerful, lacks feature for hammer chisel,

It's a great tool for drilling in concrete with percussion bits, or normal drilling with cutting bits. You'll need a 3-jaw chuck adapter to SDS+ for drilling wood or metal with HSS, Silver & Deming, Forstner bits. The more affordable Hitachi 725792 SDS+ Shank to 3-Jaws Drill Chuck Adapter needs your chuck with 1/2-Inch-20thread. The entire adapter with chuck, Bosch 1618571014 SDS-plus Shank 3 Jaw Chuck is all about twice as much.

But things i think is really missing, since there's a rotating selector for drilling with or without hammering, is a selection for hammering without drilling. This would allow for the many chisel bits out there, which i used extensively to consider down block walls, clean grout lines, remove tile floors, etc. with my corded Bosch 11236VS in HAMMER ONLY MODE. DeWalt, give consideration! Add this feature.
